calculate distributed campaign activities (ex Phone Call) count of distributed phone activity & show count in field

On Campaign Activity

Can i write a plugin for counting the number of activites a campaign is distributed and show it any custom field which i created....

for example if a channel is phone, then i have to do count of distributed phone call activities and show it in one custom field....

which is the best way to achieve it
