Sharing case trigger in a workflow and how can I know who a case is shared with

My initial workflow stated that for when a case is assigned to a particular team, it would send an email to them.  However, when a case is assigned it to someone else it is removed from my queue which I do not want because I would not have oversight of the case.  Would an alternative be to share the case with the team and create a workflow to check if it's shared with that team and send an email?  Can you assist?
