I'm doing a data import using Data Synchronization Studio. We're currently migrating from CRM 2011 On-Prem to CRM 2016 Online.
We used DSS to extract all the old GUID's from Records in 2011 and stored them in a Field called '2011 GUID' for each Entity within 2016. We used the OOB Import tool to import the data.
The issue is, we are now attempting to migrate over Appointments using the built in DSS migration tool, and it's trying to find the 2011 GUID, but seems to be searching only the RecordID. I want it to point to the 2011 GUID field we have created. There seems to be no way of doing this.
So I thought about possibly altering the Record ID's of the CRM 2016 Record, but there seems to be no way of doing this either.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I think it may be a case of having to strip out the data and try to use the DSS Migration Tool for all of the base data as well (Account, Contacts etc.). This may create new Records in 2016 with the old GUIDs as the Record ID's, although I'm not sure.
