I'm struggling with the most reasonable approach to building a social services case tracking system. There are some great forms and entities from the OOB CRM solution, but everything is so tightly-coupled with the native CRM functionality, that I'm finding it difficult to decouple. If I go to the default solution and modify a form then SaveAs with a new name, it's still part of the default solution just with a new name. Then I have to figure out how to modify all the navigation and everything to point to the newly created one. Two days into my learning, I'm finding this to be very frustrating. If I could do a SaveAs, then take that form and move it to my custom solution, that would be wonderful.
I'm appreciative of any feedback members here can provide on whether it makes more sense to start from scratch? If so, is there any way to "grab" some of those good forms ... like the Contact form ... and take them over to the new solution? Maybe export, then import?
