Advanced Quotes and Opportunities

Hi

I wondering if there is any help that the community can offer on this one.

I've got a need to track opportunity -> Quote -> Order process but our flow is a little more complicated than I can currently see CRM being able to cope with. That said, I can't be the first with this challenge so I'm hoping there are some great ideas out there...

The current process for managing opportunity is that an opportunity is created for a prospect that show need for any part of our portfolio. The single opportunity placeholder will capture the full breadth of the requirement and may include multiple disciplines from our portfolio.

The challenge I have is that I want to measure the end-to-end sales process for each of our core product areas (of which we have 8).

I currently capture one "opportunity type" on the opportunity. I am loathe to create 8 separate check boxes and there isn't an option for a "Multi-Select" drop down.

I thought about using the Business Process function, but it would need a whole bunch of dependencies so that we can navigate through. The only other way was to create a separate opportunity for each product/service type though the compromise here is that is skews the management information when counting opportunity creation.

Any suggestions most welcome...
