Microsoft Dynamics CRM2016 in dev. Any recommendations

Hi All

Currently we are using Dynamics CRM 2013 and about to create an development environment for CRM 2016 with SQL 2014 developer edition.

CRM is a main focus for our organization ICT strategy with more focus on mobile devices over the next few years so our developers do want to get a head start with ensuring 1) we can have a smooth enough transition from 2013 with regards to our CRM data/databases 2) as well as understanding the new feature set and how best it can be used in our organization.

I am going to involved from the infrastructure side in setting up the new environment.

Any tips on how best to deploy? It is only for development but my thinking is to create a one server setup including SQL server. This should be sufficient for dev/test purposes. It will be setup as a virtual server but we do have plenty of resource to allocate to it.

The plan (at the moment) is to look at deploying new CRM in late 2016 but that time frame is likely to slip and when does happen we look at a similar setup of 2 CRM servers (front end and back end) and a dedicated SQL server.

Thanks
