Filtering by information in product entity

Hi All,

I'm new to Dynamics CRM and was tasked by my company to try and put together a new CRM system to replace our old Access database. We have a lot (2000+) of products/services that will end up being updated yearly so I am trying to accomplish the following:

I would like to create fields in the Opportunity form that will "filter" down into selecting the final product. So the end goal is to accomplish something like this:

  1. Select Fiscal Year (this would filter all products that are in the selected fiscal year)
  2. Select Account (this would filter all the products specific to that account)
  3. Customer Type (filter products specific to that customer type)
  4. Category Type (filter products specific to the category type)
  5. Product (the final products list, "filtered" based on the previously selected fields above)

All the information in the fields I want to add are already stored within each of the product entity fields. (i.e. each product has it's own fiscal year, type, and category type) Is it possible to filter this way without extensive coding? Or will I have to create families for each category within the products and filter that way? I would appreciate any help or guidance.
