Hello everyone, happy New Year!
One of our users arrived back from the holidays and fired up his Outlook for the first time in a week. His CRM icons were grayed out. My typical solution for this is either disabling and re-enabling the Outlook plug in, or deleting the organization and re-adding it using the Configuration Wizard. The first option didn't work, and when I attempt the second, I receive the following error after entering our org's CRM web address into the Config Wizard:
Communication was blocked, perhaps by your computer's firewall settings, to a web service that is required by Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
The error log mentions this:
Info| Error connecting to URL: {0} Exception: {1}| *OUR ORG'S CRM WEB ADDRESS*/XRMServices/2011/Organization.svc, System.InvalidOperationException: Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: '*OUR ORG'S CRM WEB ADDRESS*/XRMServices/2011/Organization.svc?wsdl&sdkversion=7.1'. ---> System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond
I tried following the "Resolution" that Microsoft has posted at this address: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2997744
However, why is this sole user affected? Nobody else is getting this error. What could be causing this?
