CRM 2016 web application not supported with Office 2010?

Hi, 

We are trying to find out definitively if CRM 2016 web app is compatible with Office 2010. 

According to here Microsoft say it is not supported.

According to the compatibility matrix it is supported. 

Could someone confirm this please?
