Good morning all,
first post here and new to CRM so apologies if this is 1. obvious to do, or 2. obviously impossible.
I am trying to map a business process here to existing functionality in CRM and the key is that it involves multiple accounts (institutions as I have labelled them) involved in a single action. So when an email or meeting request is received in Outlook or a document is stored in SharePoint related to this action from any of the accounts I want it to appear against ALL of those accounts individually as well against the action.
Note: The Connection functionality doesn't work for me as the accounts are only linked for this purpose, NOT always.
My thinking is that I can put the multiple accounts into a Marketing List, and then assign the list to a Campaign Activity. I can then assign the email, meeting requestor document to the Marketing List. YAY! This works to a degree, as I can see the activity appearing against the Campaign.
However, I also want to see the same activity on the individual account pages. As I want to know all the activities of the account including those shared with other accounts.
E.g.
I am running a campaign. I create an activity to tender for advertising. I create a marketing list with 1. Fold7, 2. Scorch London and 3. Beattie McGuinness Bungay. When an email comes in from any of the 3 I want to mark it so it goes against the Campaign Activity. I can then see their responses, meetings, document proposals etc. This is all within the campaign and campaign windows in CRM.
My colleague doesn't give a tinker's cuss about the campaign in terms of Beattie or Fold7 as he is the account manager for Scorch London. He therefore wants to see Scorchs activities (emails/documents/meetings) related to my campaign, but within the Scorch Account windows in CRM.
Is it possible to do this?
Also hopefully you can see why I discounted the connection functionality too.
Again, sorry if it is a stupid question.
D
