I know this question may have been asked many times before; but I have not seen anyone that has specifically tried this.
Example setup: A CRM 3.0 environment running on Windows 2003 and SQL 2005.
Is it possible; although not supported; to run an in place upgrade to Windows 2008 (x86) and and SQL 2008?
Has any one tried this before and what were the results? (I know it will not be officially supported)
If it is not possible; then I understand that the next upgrade path will be from CRM 3.0 to CRM 4.0, then to CRM 2011 and so on.
Is it required to spend additional money on licenses to move from 3.0 to 4.0?
