Unique Search Problem when searching for case numbers

Dear Team, Microsoft, Community,

I have a problem that so far is unique to our crm implementation, currently running CRM 2015 Update 0.1 on- premise.

The Problem: We can only perform a global search or a records view search (e.g. active cases view) using the case number on cases created prior to 11th Jan 2016. We simply get no records found. Only in advanced find are we able to find those case created after said date. Our auto-numbering is OOB and the last searchable case is case number XXX-788878-XXXX, any number sequence after 788878 is unsearchable in global and case view search options. we need you help as its causing delays when a customer does a follow-up on the provided case number. I hope this explains our issue. look forward to a response.
