Do Appointments scheduled via Service Calendar appear in Outlook

I hope to clarify my understanding about the underlying functionality of Appointments vs. Service Activity.  Here is what I "think" I know:

1. Service Activities do not sync with a user's Outlook Calendar.
2. Appointments DO sync with a user's Outlook Calendar, assuming appropriate synchronization configuration.
3. Both Service Activities and Appointments appear on the Service Calendar View.
4. When "finding available times" the user's Outlook Calendar IS NOT searched for availability, only the Service Calendar is.

Is all of this correct?
